ENERGY CONSERVATION
Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP)
HWAP helps homeowners with projects such as caulking, hot water tank wraps, insulation, or furnace repair/replacement to increase home energy efficiency. It is not an emergency-based program and is subject to a wait list. This program is supported by the Ohio Department of Development (http://development.ohio.gov/contactus/ContactInfo.aspx).
Energy Conservation
Eligible Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) applicants may receive a home energy audit. This audit may include replacing light bulbs, shower heads, faucet aerators on kitchen sinks, power strips, and refrigerators/deep freezers with a non-energy efficient rating. Audits are subject to electric providers and available funding. Households are eligible for an audit once every five years.
Reduction in Household Energy Burden Program
Households utilizing the Percentage of Income Payment Program with an income up to 175% of the current federal poverty guidelines may qualify to participate in this program that provides education and items to decrease energy usage.
