Healthier Community Food Pantry

The CAA Healthier Community Pantry is a consumer choice food pantry that is open to residents of Columbiana County. The pantry provides individuals with dietary restrictions options of healthier food choices.

Home Repair

This program is available to homeowners in Columbiana County with an annual income that is below 50% of the area median income who are in need of health and safety repairs. Some examples of repairs may include: hot water tank repair/replacement, installation of grab bars/handrails, handicap ramp installation, and smoke/carbon monoxide detector installation. Funding received from the Ohio Department of Development is limited and CAA receives many requests annually for assistance. We are limited in the dollar amount and manpower and are unable to do large jobs such as roof and window replacement, siding, or installation of electrical systems.

Senior Home Repair

CAA provides home repair services to county residents 60 years of age or older who own their own home and meet income guidelines. Services are targeted to address health and safety issues, including repair of steps, installation of handrails and grab bars, and other similar items.

Project PRIDE Loan Program

This revolving loan fund provides loans at a 0 percent interest to those requiring health and safety home repairs or car repairs. CAA, in conjunction with the Columbiana County Bankers Association, has established a Revolving Loan fund for county homeowners with incomes below 80 percent of the County Median. The maximum loan amount is $1,000 to be repaid over a 24-month period with no interest. Applicants must provide written estimates for the work to be completed, be current on all utility bills, and have repayment ability.

Payee

This program provides assistance to individuals receiving Social Security benefits who need help managing their funds. CAA’s payee representative ensures that all benefits are used in the best interest of the beneficiary through continual contact, budgeting, and payment of essential bills.

Stand Down Event

CAA holds an annual event to assist veterans within our community in obtaining information from many local veteran service providers. Veterans are also provided with various basic necessities during this event including, but not limited to, food personal care products, and cold weather gear.
